Soprano Debora Madsen
Ms. Madsen received a BA in voice from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, a Master of Arts degree in vocal performance from George Mason University, and completed additional studies in opera and acting abroad.
Hailed in the Washington Post for her “effortless high notes and exquisitely fresh voice”, she has performed at the Terrace Theater of the Kennedy Center, the Barns of Wolf Trap, the National Cathedral, and the National Presbyterian Church.
Her concert repertoire includes Handel’s “Messiah”,Brahms’ “German Requiem”, Mozart’s “Requiem”, and Orff’s “Carmina Burana”. Her roles from contemporary American Opera include Annina in “The Saint of Bleeker Street” by Gian Carlo Menotti and the title role in “Susannah” by Carlisle Floyd. She played the role of Diana in the Washington DC premiere of “Emperor Norton” by Henry Mollicone in performances conducted by the composer.
She is a member of the Woodbridge Music Club.
